Here’s a case study of our EzineArticles (EZA) which are written based on long tail keywords. As usual we need to use suitable keyword phrases within the 4% keyword density limit as stated in EZA’s Editorial Guidelines. Based on the Editorial Guidelines (refer to this link):
“MUST NOT contain excessive and/or bolded keywords/ phrases. Bolding is limited to headings and subheadings.”
To elaborate further, EZA only accepts articles with 2% keyword density – that’s the MAX, which the keyword count starts from the article body until the author resource box.
The reason EZA maintain the 2-percent-keyword-density rule is to avoid keyword abuse and emphasize on the high quality articles. My personal part is “Think of your article is a cake, and the keyphrases are the cake that brings in people. “
Therefore, creating valuable content regarding the given topic is a MUST! Using suitable keywords is only the secondary part of the writing process.
I’ve experimented two keywords “CNC milling service” and “CNC turning service” which respectively has 30 and 31 total number of searches (by using WordTracker – refer to the screenshots below):

To find out total competitions in Google SERP, “CNC milling service” has about 82,600 competitors whereas “CNC turning service” has about 22,300. You can see our Ezinearticles appear on the first page on the SERP on both keyphrase searches respectively.
